Everything Comes to an End

To Conclude.

It was really interesting month full of hard work, but I enjoyed it. It was really interesting to write 'bout my opinion, feelings and thoughts. Hope you liked it! So, it's a goodbye...

It was Anthony White, special for you. Keep well and stay out troubles. White out.

An Original Way To Say Goodbye

Just a Dream...

You know what? I decided to amuse you in my last post. Let's imagine that we're in that New-York which described in the book and accedentally I have an address of... *ruffle* Clary Fray! Let the madness begin!

Hey Clary! Long time no see. Where've you been? Earlier I've seen you often in Brooklyn, but now...
Strange things are happening here recently, you know. Really strange. I hear hollows behind the window in the night and when I look out I can't see animals just weird guys who howl, but they do it so... Naturally. Oh yeah and a couple of days ago some strange guy smiled at me and I saw his teeth. It were long and sharp and the guy himself was so pale that I thought he would die in five minutes! What a damn Helloween...
Anyway, if you'll be looking for a chat you know where you can find me. I'm always at your service.
           Your friend,
           Anthony

I'm Furious...!!!

Reception of the Book by Critics

To say that "I'm not really happy with their so to say professional opinion" means to say NOTHING! Here's the link to the reception itself and now my opinion. It's not opinion of the professional, but opinion of a reader.

All the critics in my opinion read not to learn another story and get pleasure with it, but to analize it, to find something negative above positive. They say it's predictable because they study the book, not enjoy it. I got pleasure with every read chapter and I was surprised almost with every end of every chapter.

But also there's one thing I agree with. Quote: "...will have fantasy readers anxiously awaiting the next book in the series."

Well, I'd better say goodbye at this positive point untill I got angry again. Critics... Hmph!

What if...

Alternate Ending... Hm...

It would be really interesting to see what would happen if Jayce followed Valentine to Idris and fought him. Would he die or win the battle? Would he bring the Mortal Cup back? Would Jocelyn wake up after Valentine's death? Noone knows, but everything is just the way it should be.

I guess that events I've just suggested just were not going to happen: Jayce is not cruel enough to kill Valentine, so all the rest events wouldn't just come true. Such a shame... But there's one thing I know for sure. This story is far from end, I tell you about one book out of six, so there are a lot of unexpected in the plot ahead and I'm looking forward to reading everything.

Information Gaps...? Really?!

You've got to be kidding me...

One of the reasons I really like this book - it contains FULL information with NO gaps. We know of all the events, even those which took place long time before the main events of the book. Go'n'check if you think I'm wrong, one more reason to read that fantastic book. I know, it sounds a bit rude, challenging and impolite, but hey. I'm just trying to show you that this book and the whole seria DOES WORTH READING!

Questions? Never heard of it...

It's time to make a statement.

Perhaps you won't believe me, but I have no questions about the plot, everything is clear... Well, at least it gets more and more clear as you read on and on till the end of the book. However there are two things that make me doubt:

1st!!! - Whether Clary and Jace really siblings or not.
2nd!!! - If Simon has been turned to a Vampire or not, because he constantly feels bad after Hotel Dumort events, but he bares the sunlight.

But to be honest I just can't think of any solutions, I've found some commentaries that both answers I'll find out when I read the rest of the books (City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls and City of Heavenly Fire). By the way I've already started to read City of Ashes...

The Film Is Worth Watching

The Movie Adaptation of "City of Bones"

You know, I've watched this film recently and I tell you what: it does worth watching, even though a lot of events either placed in different order or take place somewhere else. Some scenes were completely changed and some didn't appeared at all! That's the only negative trait of film, but it's quite common for all film adaptations of the books. Anyway, the director of the film is Harald Zwart and the actors of the film are:

Lily Collins as Clary Fray
This actress is also known for her role of Snow White in "Mirror Mirror".

Jamie Campbell Bower
as Jace Wayland
Jamie is also can be easily recognized due to his role as Caius in "Twilight" saga.

Jemima West
as Isabelle Lightwood
Rather attractive actress, isn't she? Jemima also played in several French films for example "Et ton père...!"

Kevin Zegers
as Alec Lightwood
What's interesting about Kevin Zegers is that he's not just an actor, but he's a model as well! Also he played in "It's a Boy Girl Thing" as Woody Deane.

Robert Sheehan
as Simon Lewis
Simon is the best friend of Clary, I dare remind you (I guess it's all about their eyebrows, just look at it!) Also Robert played Kay in "Season of the Witch"

You can find the full cast here, and here's the link to the film itself, hope you'll enjoy it!

The Character I've Choosen

Jonathan "Jace" Wayland

I chose this character to describe because at some point he behaves the way I wanted to behave when I was younger, you know, tough guy of some kind. In the book he described as extremely arrogant, believing himself to be "the best Shadowhunter" and to be above others. He can also be very sarcastic if he wants to be and is shown to be very confident about his looks and has dated a lot of girls. His charisma, good looks, and charm have made him quite the ladies' man, and he is implied to be somewhat promiscuous among girls. Despite his luck with girls, he never forms emotional attachments for more than a brief amount of time, if at all, because of the way Valentine had taught him that "to love is to destroy." And that love, therefore, makes a person weak. He is also known to be a bit self-centered; however, when it comes to battle and justice, he is willing to make sacrifices and the right decisions.

His personality drastically changes after meeting Clary, with Isabelle stating that before Jace had met Clary, Jace was living a "half-life"and that after he began to grow close to her, it was like he suddenly "woke up" and "started living." He does however remain arrogant, although in a more minimal level, particularly to those people he does not like.

The only people Jace has any feelings of love for before meeting Clary were the Lightwoods. Jace shares the snobbish attitude toward Mundanes and Downworlders that the Lightwoods have in common with Valentine, though he lacks their extremist tendencies. Beneath Jace's flippant exterior lies a soul in constant torment. He is filled with a deep-seated rage that he keeps in check most of the time and which he channels into fighting and slaying Demons and also, sometimes, his sarcastic and nasty remarks. While Isabelle often dates around to calm her nerves, Jace relaxes by getting into fights. Jace has also been shown to be a very passionate individual, and when he falls in love with Clary, he does so on a very deep and passionate level and does everything in his power to protect her from harm.

As you can see it's a great character, a true hero who's life is difficult, dangerous and full of adventures. Hope you've liked my "review".

A Really Interesting Trait

My Commentaries on the Passage/Sentence From the Book

You know, one really interesting thing about the book is different parts of poems, which placed before every part of the book (the whole book is devided into three parts: Dark Descent, Easy Is The Descent, The Descent Beckons). For example here is the part of poem called "Paradise Lost" by John Milton (the quote is from the BOOK III) which the author connetcts with the Pandemonium (in the book it is also the name of the club, where the events start and a lot of demons and undead gather there):

I sung of Chaos and eternal Night
Taught by the heav'nly Muse to venture down
The dark descent, and up to reascend...

Also the book provides to the reader several wors in foreign languges: Latin and Spanish. Here are some of them:

Spanish

Dios Mio - Oh My God
Puta madre - F**k/Sh*t/Damn
Claro - Clear
Chico - Boy
Los vampiros - Vampires
Los Niños de la Luna - Children of the Moon (Werewolves)

Latin

Amor verus numquam moritur - True Love Never Dies
Fidelis ad Mortem - Faithful unto Death

As I said earlier this book is really fascinating but also I learned some expressions in Spanish :-)

My Choice

Guess what the book might be about.

My choice is the first book in Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare called City Of Bones.
To be honest, I don't even have to guess what is the book about, because I've read it from the begining and till the end, it's really interesting and I recomend it to everyone. It's full of unexpected results and it provides interesting descriptions of the places, events and characters, also it provides interesting events as well (Dumor Hotel, The Institute, Events in the cafe full of Underworlders, etc.).

The book tells us the story of 15-16 year-old Clary (shortened from Clarissa) Fray who becomes a witness of murder in the club "Pandemonium". She saw three teenagers, who turn out to be the Shadowhaunters, also known as the Nephilims or half-angels, kill the Demon. The Shadowhunters were surprised with Clary able to see them because Demons, Underworlders and Nephilims are hidden from the human view. An important detail is that the Shadowhunters call all the humans the Mundanes. Her ability to see the Shadow World gives some kind of a hint to Jace (shortened from Jonathan) that she is a Nephilim as well.
After the events in the club Clary's mother, Jocelyn Fray, has a quarrel with Clary, so Clary leaves her home with the best friend Simon. After that Jocelyn is attacked in her flat by two minions of Valentine, antagonist of the book. After the call of her mother Clary rushes home with Jace, who decided to check whether she IS a Nephilim or not, accompanying her. At home Clary is attacked by the lesser Demon and poisoned, but by an accident she killes the Demon.

Clary wakes up in The Institute, New-York home of the Shadowhunters. Since that event the most important part of the story begins.

I think that it would be a crime to tell you ALL the details and leave you with no purpose to read the book, so I guess I'm done with the first post of my blog. I recomend this book to everyone first of all because of the interesting plot. The name of the book might make you think that this is the horror story, but NO. It's quite a romantic story full of interesting events with great descriptions of places, people and events. Here is the cover of the book, stay with me and read the rest posts of my blog.
